Medal Frenzy at XCR17 Finale

The final round of XCR17 as held at the fast, flat Princes Park, Carlton on Saturday morning.  Ever changing conditions greeted close to 2000 athletes for the final round, team relays around the 3.2km circuit.

Yarra Ranges Athletics had 14 teams competing in the various grades and divisions finishing with our best placings being a first, second, third and fourth. Congratulations to our Women U14, Women U16 and Women U20 teams for winning medals and our Men U16 team narrowly missing bronze.

We welcomed some debutants this week including Hayden Rooke, Ashley Rooke, Danielle Graves and Tom Barker. Great to also see some old faces back in time for the track season.

Yarra Ranges success at State Championships

Yarra Ranges Athletics competed at the Little Athletics Victoria Cross Country Championships on Saturday.  Set at the spectacular Cruden Farm in Langwarrin, our club athletes excelled in the cold windy conditions.

All our athletes competed with our traditional hard but fair attitude, with every athlete giving 100%. Performances were also boosted by the sensational support provided by all our supporters.

Medal winning performances came from Kiara Flavel, Maddie Laven, Indigo Linde and Georgia Laven.  Georgia gets a special mention for winning her 7th consecutive LAVIC State Cross Country Championship title.
